As a member of the larger Quakertown community, there’s no better way to usher in the holiday season than with the upcoming Quakertown Alive! Christmas house and landmark tour.
“The most valued feeling for this event is for the community to surround their town. It has always been such a uplifting surprise for me to see the Borough, along with surrounding areas, support (the) community,” said Jann Paulovitz, who along with husband Tom, opens the family home on Park Ave. for the upcoming event.
Six for six!
Six Quakertown Borough homes, along with six historic landmark sites will be decked out to welcome the upcoming Christmas holiday season.
The tickets only tour will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 7.
A holiday reception will be hosted by McCoole’s at the Historic Red Lion Inn from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., the day of the event. A local artists’ showcase and sale, along with a silent auction will also be held.
Tickets cost $20 at the door, and $18 in advance.
Discount tickets for senior citizens cost $17 at the door, and $15 in advance.
Programs with tour stops are provided along with tickets.
Tickets are available at downtown locations including Quakertown Alive!, Quakertown Borough Hall, Boutique Tana Kaya, Lion Around Books, Always Beautiful, McCoole’s, Sine’s 5 and 10 Cent Store and Upper Bucks Chamber of Commerce.
The occasional yearly tours began in 2007, as a way to help celebrate Quakertown’s 150th sesquicentennial, according to Paulovitz.
Proceeds from the event’s silent auction will be donated to the Shirley Errickson Memorial Fund, Quakertown Food Pantry, along with support for Arts Alive! festival events, downtown flower planters, hanging baskets, and triangle park maintenance, Paulovitz said.
